The Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) currently has
three active disaster relief units in service (2 Feeding Units and 1
Recovery Unit). Southern BEARS of Maryland/Delaware is being formed
to provide communications support for those units. To fulfill that
mission, the Blue Ridge Baptist Association has been tasked with
putting an Emergency Mobile Communications (EMComm) unit in service
before the start of the 2006 hurricane season.

The MD/DE comm unit has just received (July 2006) its new club call sign from the FCC.
It's W3MDB. This will be the official call sign for the new MD/DE
Communications Unit when it comes on line.
